Institute of Science Tokyo (Science Tokyo) was established on October 1, 2024, following the merger between Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU) and Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech), with the mission of “Advancing science and human wellbeing to create value for and with society.”
The TiTech MEXT Scholarship 2026, offered by the Japanese government through MEXT at Tokyo Institute of Technology, provides international students with full financial support to pursue Master’s and PhD degrees. Benefits include full tuition coverage, a monthly stipend of 144,000 JPY, round-trip airfare, English-taught programs, access to world-class research facilities, international student support, and optional Japanese language classes.
Applicants from countries with diplomatic relations with Japan.
Master’s applicants: must have completed 16 years of education outside Japan (or expected to graduate before enrollment).
PhD applicants: must hold or be expected to obtain a master’s degree or equivalent outside Japan.
GPA requirement: at least 2.3 out of 3 scale.
Must be at least 22 years old by admission date.
No Japanese language requirement; English proficiency sufficient as lectures are in English.
