The Educational Ideals of Sophia University Based on Christian principles of education, Sophia University attests to the four-hundred-year-old interest of the Jesuit Order in Japan. Its aim is to prepare men and women coming from different countries to recognize in the different cultural traditions of the world the fundamental unity of the human race and to work for the concrete achievement of that unity. The Sophia University Scholarships 2026–27 in Japan provide funded opportunities for international students to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD programs at Sophia University. The scholarships aim to support academically excellent students from around the world who face financial difficulties in pursuing higher education abroad. Awards help cover tuition fees and educational expenses for newly admitted or transfer students in English-taught programs for the 2026 academic year.

Applicants must:
