International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)
The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is an intergovernmental organisation that supports countries in their transition to a sustainable energy future, and serves as the principal platform for international cooperation, a centre of excellence, and a repository of policy, technology, resource and financial knowledge on renewable energy. IRENA promotes the widespread adoption and sustainable use of all forms of renewable energy, including bioenergy, geothermal, hydropower, ocean, solar and wind energy in the pursuit of sustainable development, energy access, energy security and low-carbon economic growth and prosperity.
Scholarship description
The IRENA Youth Forum 2026 is the eighth edition of IRENA’s flagship youth platform. It will be held in Abu Dhabi from 8–9 January 2026, alongside the Seventeenth IRENA Assembly. The theme, “Youth Innovation and Digital Solutions: From AI to Access in Renewable Energy,” focuses on empowering young leaders to drive innovation and sustainability in the energy transition. Participants gain exposure to global renewable energy policy, network with international decision makers, and co-develop the Youth Forum Outcome Statement.
Who can apply

Young people worldwide aged 16 to 35 by January 2026.

Applicants motivated and dedicated to renewable energy and just transition.

Actively engaged in renewable energy, sustainability, innovation, or related fields (projects, startups, advocacy, research).

Must hold a valid passport during the Forum period.

The Forum will be conducted in English.
